Tired tired tired...

I am tired. I don't know why, but I think with all the crazy renovation and having to get so many things in order sometimes I just feel like I'm running on nothing. This last month has been most trying and it still is. I need a break. A break away from everything and just to spend time with myself and if time permits time with the closest of my buddies - with nothing to worry but just to spend quality chill out time together. I don't know how long I can last this way. It's so emotionally and physically draining sometimes.

Chill Out...

I have my favourite haunt outs from time to time. For a while it was Rochester, then Holland Village and East Coast Park, recently it was Dempsey and St James. And, I just found a really nice place which might just be my next weekend haunt out spot - Sunset Way. I was utterly stunned when I went there last week to meet a friend for dinner. It looked really quite and sleepy from the outside of the HDB estate, but I tell you, don't be deceived by that facade, because walking in, you'll see that it's a hive of activity! We ate at this really nice, dainty and a little girly place which serves German food (hmm... dainty and German doesn't go right? But, who cares, they've got decent food and reasonable prices and a HUGE selection of desserts considering that this is a HDB estate kind of restaurant!) - Peaberry & Pretzel. I will blog more about it when I have the time, but, I'm definitely going to make a trip there again soon.

October

It is October! And it never struck me that September has flown past and we're into our last quarter of 2007!!! Goodness, time is passing too fast. And come the first week of October I will have been with this job for 6 months and it almost seemed like I had just joined. Wowowhee...

Anyway, it wasn't until yesterday during service when I realized that it was Children's Day today. Yes, 1st October is Children's day, but that day has become so unsignificant for me as celebrating it seems like a distant memory. After graduating from primary school, I spent the next 4 years of secondary school moaning and groaning on why they don't give us a holiday on children's day. Then came JC where this period of time is the super stress and mugging period that really, a school holiday doesn't make a difference. And when uni came, Children's Day totally slips your mind. You're bogged down with too many projects to even realise and you get acquainted to a new festival that happens in October and it is more exciting and appeals more to the adults than Children's Day - Oktoberfest.

Yes yes yes! Oktoberfest is here and I wanna celebrate it. Technically, Oktoberfest this year started 22 Sept 07 and ends on 7th Oct 07, but who cares, let's just celebrate it and get an excuse to hang out with friends and have fun. I missed celebrating St Pat's day this year (cos everyone thought I was mad to celebrate St Pat's day. hey! It's a great festival of being Irish and green!) so, hopefully I still get to celebrate Oktoberfest without everyone thinking I'm mad. Hahaha... So, go out, play and have fun. And, if u're game for an Oktoberfest party, let me know NOW!
