I love running in the gym because,
  • There's music (I don't happen to own an mp3 player... sigh...)
  • There's aircon, so, even with the sweat and all, i get dry easily.
  • I force myself to run for a longer time. Simply for the fact that it'll be very funny if you just jog for only 15 to 20 min and stop when you get tired (like I would normally do when I jog outside), because everyone around you is clocking in a much longer running time. So, to keep it up, you just force yourself to jog longer.
  • I can hang my towel and place my bottle very close to me, yet not have the hassle of having to hold it while i run.
  • The machine has lots of info. Like, how long I've run, and it helps me to push pass the 20min mark and hopefully start to get the fats to burn. Futhurmore, it's got the speed control thingy, so it allows me to pace myself, and slowly increase my speed when I've paced myself well. Many a times when i run outside, I don't pace myself. just chiong first, then pant like mad later.
  • And, finally, they've got the calorie burn electronice guide, which makes me feel good after my workout. Haha...

But, then again, I don't get to breathe fresh air, no beautiful scenary, except for the massive jam at orchard rd. ah well...

It's all psychological, I know, but yes... I still need that psychological motivation sometimes.

I'm having weird cravings today. It amuses me how my cravings can vary so much. But, ya, as my track record goes, I crave for weird stuff at weird times. (Think of it, I craved for Korean BBQ beef with rice and kimchi at mid night before, and mind you, that's after I ate dinner.)

First I wanted to eat Delifrance's quiche, then after convincing myself that it was far too fattening, I started craving for all the different pastries in Delifrance. Again, self check: Joanne, it's fattening food. So, decided to buy fruits. Well, somehow, Watsons was opposite the place I was at, so I decided to venture in. Now, if you haven't already known, I love Synder's pretzels, especially the cheese one. Well, it's the only flavour I eat. Have yet to try the rest, although, I'm positive I won't like the caramel one. Simply for the fact that I'm not very much of a caramel fan. Am hoping to try the ham flavour one day. But, anyway, back to my story. I was first introduced to this fantabulous snack when I was in secondary school, and watson's was the only place that I knew sold this. And, yes, everytime I walk into watsons, my cravings for Synder's pretzels will emerge. And, bingo, it did. But to my dismay, they were out of the the cheese flavour, and were left with caramel. eeeewwwww... And, that started my hunt for my Synder's cheese pretzels. Walked to 7 eleven to find it, but, no, no cheese flavour, just caramel. Walked to the further Watsons, but, still no cheese pretzels. I think tanjong pagar and chinatown area is voide of Synder's cheese pretzels. Hmph!

Anyway, so, went back into 7 eleven, craving not satisfied, and guess what? I had another craving, for chocolates. Well, I'm not the type who normally goes out to buy chocolate, neither do I get chocolate cravings often. So, that really surprised me. But, couldn't find the one that I liked, aka my toggy's bar. All time favourite. (I'm a more wafer chocolate person than chocolate chocolate person)

Having spent so long in the shop pacing up and down, I felt really bad. And, guess what I ended up buying in the end? Pocky's strawberry.

Talk about weird cravings.

I just had to blog this, even though my friend told me to get over it.

The ending of War of the World's is sucky. When it ended, I was like, huh? That's all? What's going on.

Gee... So, whoever's going to watch it, be prepared for an ending which leaves you hanging and going, "huh"? I'll spill the secret out now, just to irritate all of you and prevent you from watching the show. The machines started dying of disease and they all started collapsing. And, that was the end of the war of the worlds. No, the humans (or Tom Cruise, for that matter of fact), didn't save the world. The viruses did (recall bio class? viruses, not computer viruses).

I'd expected much more from a Steven Spielberg movie.

The weekend's been packed. So, very packed. But, you know what, I really enjoyed it. Really.

Anyway, it's been back to work ever since the China trip. And, yup, I really missed just hanging out with everyone. And, that's why I really enjoyed the weekend so much, cos it was a time to chill out and hang out with people (esp my close friends) and just spending time with them. Pity only that we haven't been able to talk much.

The weekend that just passed was FL's 7th anniversary. And, kudos to Ivan, who was running around like siao. Doesn't help that I kept stressing him up unnecessarily. Haha... Ah well, had worship practice on Friday, which was, well, not the best of practices. Even as Sarah and I were talking after that, I realised how much an impact the worship and praise the people in China made on me. (Ah.. Yes, I have yet to blog about it.) But, well, Saturday's worship turned out to be interesting. New "funky" beats to certain songs, and a jarring array of music.

Saturday, I had a good sleep in. (Both my tuition girls couldn't have tuition, which was a good thing, I could catch up on my sleep.) Before heading down to church for worship practice. And, then, came a very special mission. Called: Rescue Mission. Nope, not the one you had during the Easter camp, but a rescue mission to save the cake. Well, we had a 5KG birthday cake for our 7th anniversary. And, when the cake was brought to church only then did we realise that there was no fridge big enough to keep the cake in, and the cake was starting to melt. (How long can cream last?) Rushed it to an aircon room, blasted the aircon to the lowest and windiest, but that still didn't solve the problem. And, so, had to resort to using dry ice. And, the only place we knew that had dry ice was Haagen Dazs, so after a few calls, some frantic panic and waiting, and a speedy gonzalez driver in Gen, we were off to Haagen Dazs to buy dry ice to save the cake. Ah.. Those people who were wondering what I was doing with Haagen Dazs, now you know. Haha... Was really quite funny, especially in the car with Gen. It's like one of those hollywood movies, whereby you're rushing against time to save... *hold your breathe* .... the cake. Ah, and with Gen helming the steering wheel, it makes things all more exciting. (Gen: Haha.. I really had fun in the car ride on "Rescue Mission: Save the Cake" *wink*)
