My readings are just staring back at me. The pile seems endless. Worst still, I'm trying to read them, but they just seem so unfriendly and cold that they stare back as I desperately try to get something into my head. It doesn't seem to be happening though, and my brain's not making much of an effort either. Maybe it's the time of the night, and the lack of a tutorial in 4hrs. (I realise that I work best in tight time constraints... somehow, before that, my brain is not at it's most active, and I take my own sweet time to think, so pretty much nothing gets done. BUt, if I'm forced to come out with all my replies/answers/proposals in a very short time, my brain would suddenly start working faster, and finally get something done..) Oh well...

I was talking to mei on the bus from NUS to church and we came to the same conclusion that time in NUs literally flies by you. Before you know it, it's end of the week and the next week is starting already!! Boy, and you hardly have enough time to clear all your tutorials and endless piles of readings!!!! Sheesh... Which reminds me... I think I better get back to what I'm supposed to be doing...

Li Jiawei didn't win her last 2 matches, and she didn't get the bronze medal. Nope, Singapore's deam of an Olympic medal didn't come true this round.

But, you know what? I think she was absolutelty fantastic at her games. (Don't get me wrong. I'm no madcap fan of hers.. I'm just like any other ordinary Singaporean who am really proud of her achievements which have brought her all the way here...) She might not have won both matches, but I think she put up a very good fight despite the immense pressure on her to win. She played a wonderful game yesterday. She did an absolutely solid 3 games, with one at 11-0. She should have won. But, given the conditions and pressure she was under, even though she lost, I think she did really well. And, you know what? I applaud her for her fighting spirit, giving off her best at the Bronze Medal Match playoffs today. I'm sure she must have been really shattered after yesterday's match. But, the fact that she managed to compose herself and even take the first game of the match (well, if you didn't see the Gold Medal Match, China's Zhang YiNing won in the first 4 games). But, in terms of standard, I think she had a tough match with third seed Kim Kyung Ah.

Jiawei has brought the hope for Singapore this far. Without her talent, we would probably not be able to smell anything near entering into the semi-finals of the Olympics Table-tennis match. She's really done Singapore proud, and has tried her very best to fulfill the Singapore dream of getting an Olympic medal after all these 44 years. She's tried her very best. We all know it. And, we should all rally and support her to show her that we all are behind her and are proud of her. Jiawei, thank you for bringing us so far!!! =)

Always go and play tennis, badminton... Haha... I shall join u all one day. BUt, pardon my sucky playing skills.. haha... I can't play any of these for nuts!!!)

Sun, sand, sea, ball games.. Wish that I could stay longer, but had a show to catch. YUpyup.. Watched AvP. HAha... caught the sneaks today. Well, as was my preshow verdict, it was quite a lame plot... But, well, it was enjoyable la... Haha.. =)

Life's back to normal with school setting in and all. Today marks the second week of school. Can feel everything starting to settle down. (hey, last week was the first week of school.. so still got lots of stuff going on.. and there was HL's wedding to be excited about and go shopping for!!!) Haha... IVLE seems to be my best friend again. And, yup, I've been making very frequent visits to the computer lab to get my stuff printed. Hmm... They've changed the system. But, yup, it's quite user friendly, and it helps to save unnecessary print jobs.... hmmm... however, i seriously wonder what it would be like around the printers when the volume picks up during mid term.. Hmmm...

Lots of readings to do... Ciao...

Yesterday was Hsiangling's BIG DAY!!! Yes yes yesh!!! She's Mrs Joan Schutte!!! Haha.. Can't believe it man! Our ditzy, crazy, fun loving, adventurous (She went backpacking on her own many times!!), globe trotter, super dramatic, colourful, hilarious yet serious, very persevering (especially in getting all of us down for BS week after week) and wonderful cell group leader is married!!! I so can't believe it too!! She looked stunning yesterday! She looked very different from the normal her with her hair all up, nice brows and such beautiful dresses. And, when she put on her chinese looking gown, she was almost a split resemblance of Zhang ZiYi. Was supposed to take lots of photos for Cherie and Steffi to see (poor babes are in Aussie studying now...) Haha.. took some la... But then, halfway thru gave up, cos there were so many cameramen taking all the best spots and my zoom also not that fantastic. Plus, my camera was half dying... Also it was very funny to go up and take when I'm in my nice dress and all... (haha.. sorry babes.. m vain la.. haha...) But, dun worry.. got people like Ben who's so into taking photos.. and he's got lots of photos of the wedding. Wahahaha....

Sigh! All goodie things must come to an end. And, HL's going to leave us soon for Chicago. HL... going to miss you lots when you're there... One less girl for CG.....(Now only left Mother & I when G and Su go back to Uk and Aussie)..... Waaaaaahhhhhhhhhhh...... sob sob sob...... HL, gonna miss you lots when u go to Chicago. One less ditzy and crazy livewire to entertain our group. One fantastic and ever faithful leader (she's been with us for one of the longest of times!!) who cares so much for us that she's stayed with us for so long (though she loves to zip off somewhere out of Singapore quite often.. haha...). Lending a listening ear freely, leading us back into the right path when we stray... I'll miss you so much!!! *sniff sniff*

God, even as you have brought HL and Joan together, continue to bless them abundantly and guide them as they live their lives together. And, even as they leave for Chicago soon, continue to prepare a path for them, and I ask that they would be able to settle down well in Chicago when they are there. Thank You God!

My Random thoughts...

Today's been the longest day at school for this week. This sem's timetable is terrible.. with lots of breaks in between and classes ending at 6 plus... Sheesh.. This is so irritating!! But, well, think of it, it just maybe a good thing, so that I can make good use of those breaks to study (hopefully...). And, that would mean that I can't lunch out with Rudi too much, or else he'll lead me astray by talking too much and telling me not to go for classes.

I think I have an unofficial day off. Lecturers should learn to be more interesting and speak louder, so as not to lull people to sleep with their soft monotone voice. Some of my lecturers are fantastic... but some... seem to be talking in their own world whilst the rest of the LT seems to be somewhere else... Hmmm...

VCF's starting next week!!! And, thank you GOD for sending so many people that now we have enough people to make up 2 CGs!!! But, sighz... timing's are bad... I have a 3 hour break on monday!!! sheesh.... Bad timings...

HsiangLing and Joan's wedding's tomorrow!! So excited!!! =)

Oh.. But, i need to mention this.. I'm getting too FAT!!! My dress doesn't seem to fit as well.. It feels really tight now... I need to diet/exercise.. wadever to get myself back into shape!!!

Gotta iron my dress now... and then going to sleep... zzZZzzzZZzzz...............

Cute little Nathanel... but, so sorry.. too lazy to remove the red eye.. but, he's so cute, right? Posted by Hello

School's starting again... Hee... Time to re-adjust my life back to lectures, tutorials, projects presentations... Haha... So far, my lecturers have been quite good!! hehe... =)

HAPPY 39TH BIRTHDAY SINGAPORE!!!

We won 9 shields for RAG DAY!!

Haha... Sorry for the late update... But, was totally pooped out yesterday to update my blog. Anyway, I spent friday in school . Went back (even though O week was over) to help out in RAG. Actually wanted to help after Dean's evening (on thursday), but was too tired after it.. So, oh well... So, anyway, the whole of friday, was working fully on the float to do the touch up, cover the "holes" and what have you... haha...

Stayed over in school on friday night as on saturday had to be up and ready by 7am to make our march to SRC. Haha... had supper at fong seng (no, din eat prata.. went for chong pang nasi lemak...) then popped by Temasek Hall to see Ryn and Mei. Then, back to rag site to send off our beloved float.. =)

Rag Day on Saturday was fantastic, though I'm pretty burnt. But, you could really feel the unity of the BIzAd Spirit. The morning started out quite stone, cos we were all hungry and sleepy... And, yup... for the first time in 2 years, I sang the national anthem and said the pledge. Brought back lots of memories. Things started warming up and when the float displays from the Halls started, everyone started warming up.

I loved Temasek Hall's presentation. It was a fantastic dance presentation, only that there wasn't much interaction with the float. But, it was so well choreographed!! And Eusoff's float was great!! Though I felt that the presentation was not as wonderful as Temasek's but, the interaction with the float was great. Loved the part when the scorpion was shot by the arrow and when it was speared. The movement was really very good. Very good engineering!! Haha... But, somehow, the awards were given the other way round...

Then came the faculty floats. Haha... I think I shan't elaborate... Cheered like mad when the Bizad float came out!! Haha... Really.. You could feel the BizAd Spirit being re-ignited and the BizAd Spirit came to life!!! You really have to be there to feel the unity!!! Loved the sound of the fans whenever the presenters opened the fans... So much sei3!!!

Haha... Then... came the results!!! Wahah.. I loved this part... Cos, they were playing club music as we were waiting for the results to be out, and guess wad we BizAders were doing? Yesh!!! Dancing and singing in unity!!! (I think the other FACs thought that we were mad... not cheering, but dancing and singing in braod daylight?!?!?) But, really... It was so much fun for everyone to dance, sing and cheer in unity!! Haha... And of course, not to forget the 9 shields we managed to win!! It's really unbeliveavle... We thought we would lose a few.. but, we won more than expected!!! 9 SHIELDS!!! Thank you GOD!!! and of course.. to all those in the Rag and Flag planning committee... you've done it!! All the late nights and starch... they've paid off!!

Who needs glue when we have starch?

BizAd Ke Ma Ma!!!.... Here comes the BIzAD!!!!
